Of the bruised and battered

Hey guys it’s been a while since an update has been done.
Anyway i think we’ve been doing very well for the past two matches, there have been much fewer mistakes ,more confidence and grit in our play. Defence has been great except for few glitches, and midfielders and strikers are beginning to work their socks off.
I’m glad that we stood up to the test today, obviously juding from amount of cards and fouls they had it was a real torturing experience, but we played our game and i think can be proud from the draw that we have gotten. We’ve come some way since our dreadful start and mistakes in the beginning matches.
So let’s give a roundup.
1. Keeper & Defence- Consider our Goals conceded and i can safely say we’ve found our most effective defence line at the moment. Think now we have good communication between keeps and the defence and everyone starts covering for another, shame that e 2 goals were just really that last moment mistake but i dun think we can blame alvin cuz he and zhong were really outstanding today against really tough roughian strikers. I will also say that over last two matches i’ve gained more confidence in my favourite position and i’m willing to take elbows for the team every week.:)( of which im still feeling kinda giddy now)
2. Midfield- They really closed us down today and packed the midfield, so prob today wasn’t great but last week i think everyone did a real good job in harassing and spreading the play with Ventz. Today i could say we were a bit lost because of the frequent changes, marcus being rotated everyone except to the cleaning aunty position, but i think the wingers did a good job in closing down and gary /yap both made some good interceptions and passes that gave the defence more time to breathe. * but to be honest i do think we need el capitan Daro with either Gary/Yap as i feel that it’s the most effective balance. And honestly we din really put many crosses in from either wing, so just note that.
3. Forwards- Bernard’s ability was great today, why the 2nd goal never came about only the ref knows why. Gd job by e rest as well, leiz playin in unfamiliar territory. Lets work to more goals and gettin strikers involved in play rather than just waiting for the ball into the box.
Anyway we’re awaiting fatty cat to develop the photos. so have a good week ahead, and hopefully see you on tuesday. Those who got knocked today do take care, and i say that because i myself haven’t been feeling too well since i’ve returned.

V.S RSM

Ok. We lost 3-2 again. Somehow I feel that we are pulling of a Chelsea, playing well but not being able to convert chances and conceding silly goals through set pieces and defensive errors.
My 2 cents worth for the 1st half of today’s game.
1. We were playing too much through the flanks, the ball was rarely passed to the centre.
2. There were also too many negative comments and shouting at each other going on, more positive comments please.
3. Lesser silly fouls. I admit that I’m guilty of them too. Always keep your hands away when you’re tackling.
4. Too many foul throws.
5. At least one player must be in the box to challenge the opposition keeper during set pieces. It might not seem like a big deal but in my opinion, it does help in affecting the goalie’s concentration, but do watch for the foul.
Do provide your comments for today’s match through the tagboard.
And as for funds, somehow we managed to collect an additional $4 today. So as of now, we have $40 in our funds now. New ball anyone?
P.S. Who assisted Darrel’s and Bernard’s goals today? Do leave a message on the tagboard so that I can update the table accordingly.

Div 3
When it looked like it is going to be a 3 horse race in Div 3, Redbacks went down to Mammoet 2-0, whilst Apex and K-1-K chalked up full points. With Apex leading the pack, they see themselves brushing off Monforto 3-1. K-1-K also did well beating Ventz, who have a outside chance to finish in the top three, 4-1. Corpus Christi went down 2-6 to RSM.

Additional Income from last weeks match = $20
Drinks purchased by Yap Meng = -$6
So we have a balance of $36 in our funds now. Get a new or use it to offset our match fees? What say you.
Btw, goals and assists tables have beeen updated. Let me know if I’ve left anything out. And btw, who assisted Gary during the Redbacks match?
